Having a radio on trail runs is great for getting the lowdown on up and coming hazards. It's also great fun to chat and hear other riders reactions to what's happening.
I found a nice Uniden 505 XL Pro for just $30 and a Wilson 500 antenna for my roof on the local classifieds.
OK OK, this thing is SUPER cheap with no bells or whistles, but on the trail it works really well, and it's small enough to fit neatly under the dash.
