Decided to do a SPring Over Axle flip aka SPOA, to raise the rig and move the rear axle and tires away from the body and frame.
I reused the rear ubolt plate shock mounts, which has left very little up-travel in the shock. So I'll need to make some shock mounts to move the shock down....and gain some shock length too.
Had to order some 2007 Tacoma brake lines as the OEM flex lines are 2 inches away from the axle without flex!😆
Had major issues with rear driveshaft vibration after the lift, so got an 80's Toyota front double cardan driveshaft which is exactly the right length and a whole lot sturdier than the little Suzuki driveshaft.
With the CV, I had to re-clock the pinion so it's looking directly at the tcase, re-drill the flanges to match the Toyota bolt pattern, and machine the flanges to accept the larger Toyota shaft location ring.
Pre-swap
