Buddy and I decided to have another crack at 'Short & Sweet' (aka Eugene 's Hill).
It's a 100ft long greasy rutted rocky moss covered hill on a 30 degree incline through trees to a larger woodland area of mud and moss. On a good day it's a 33's and locking differentials type of gig.
Took us a while to find the trail head as it's unrecognizable from when I last ran it a few years ago.
We got held up at the bottom of the big hill.....I turned off the Zuk to take a photo, and couldn't get it going again as the starter wouldn't roll over.
We ended up screw-drivering the starter to get it going. I didn't turn it off after that.
(I had an oh crap moment when I got home...turns out the anti theft starter kill switch got activated by my knee LOL)
After getting going again my Sidekick just walked the hill 😎
Dave however had troubles at the bottom where the big long ruts put his Samurai on it's side so he had zero traction with 2 wheels buried. Then halfway up the hill he hit rocks that needed the winch again.
Then he backed into a 30ft widow maker and the top 5ft snapped off and landed on the hood of his Sami....he has a nice dent on there now.
Once up top, the trail was super slick, narrow and very challenging.
It was a good day of wheeling and with both front and rear locked the Sidekick made the day a lot of fun :-)
