ZUK - OCTOBER CLUB RUN

Took a tour of the Renfrew 'waterfall' which is actually Renfrew Road only passable by 4x4.

Was too busy readin my map when I hit pothole too hard an broke both rear shock mounts - I have no bump stops, so the socks bottomed out HARD!

Upon climbing said waterfall, I broke the drivers side transfer case mount - a known weak point in the transfer case setup, and designed to break first.

You can just hear the transfer case clunking as it turns and hits the floor LOL.

So, got that strapped up and carried on...

ZUK - UNDERCOATING

Zuk got it's 1st undercoat .....in 32 years? There is a question mark because I don't know exactly when it was last done, but it was bone dry under there before.

Buddy Bill does a great job with the Fluid Film and really gives vehicles a good soaking.

It's gonna suck working on it now, but hopefully it'll keep the rust at bay.

ZUK - TIRE UPGRADE

Zuk had 31 inch tires with a 10.50 inch width.
I wasn't considering a 33" tire as the most common 33" tall tire width is 12.50 inches, which would make my tires stick out way too much from the fenders.

I came across a smoking deal on some almost new 33 x 10.50 x 15 BFG KO2 M/Ts on Jeep rims.
So I sold my old 31's, and am selling the Jeep rims and some spare rims I already had, the 33's come in at almost $0 :)

So far I'm not feeling much difference in the bigger heavier tire. The speedo has corrected itself tho :)

I do have a clearance issue with one shock hoop on full lock.

I also had to deal with the fuel filler pipe as the tire blew a hole in it. So I made up a smaller steel pipe with an extra bent to clear the tire.

...other than that, I'm super happy with them :)

ZUK IS OFFICALLY AN ANTIQUE

A passenger vehicle 30+ years old in Nova Scotia is eligible for antique vehicle license plates.
Antique plates have some driving conditions, but the advantages are;
$19/year for the license
Antique motor insurance
No further inspections once an initial mechanical fitness test has passed

Since the Zuk is 32 years old, it's not my daily driver and its safety inspection had expired, I decided to take advantage of the advantages :)
